Rock Painting | How to Paint a Lady Bird (Lady Bug) for the Home or Garden
using Acrylic Paint
This is a fun and creative nature themed project, suitable for all ages, and a great summer project.
This video shows how to make your own unique painted rock using acrylic paints, and demonstrating how to paint a lady bird (ladybug). This is a great project for painters, artists, creatives, adults and children from beginners to more advanced painters! Suitable for all abilities.

The materials needed for this project include:
-A garden rock.
-Acrylic Paint (red, black, white)
-Paint Brushes (a fine brush and a small flat brush)
-Water
-Gloss Varnish (if placing your rock outside, use a varnish suitable for outdoor use).
Paint your rock with the easy steps provided in the video.
Tips:
Paint your rock white first (prime you rock).
Paint outline of lady bird | lady bug - using black paint.
Then fill in the body - using red paint (2 coats).
Let dry in between coats of paint.
Let dry in between coats of paint.
Then add the finer detail such as eyes, mouth, antenna, spots - using white paint.
Let dry completely, then varnish with an acrylic gloss varnish.
You can paint anything on your rock! Flowers, insects, or a message like 'welcome', 'hope' or 'peace', etc. Start simple and then try different insects of scenes.
A fun, creative way to spend time and a great hobby or interest to develop. With a little practice, you'll be painting bees, a lady bird, flowers, etc in no time!
This is a great project for adults, children, and groups. Kids and teens will love painting rocks! This makes a lovely handmade gift for a friend or family member. They are lovely in the garden, in plant pots, or as a paper weight. A great project for home and garden decor.
